Sovereign House

Sovereign House accommodates over 1,000 office workers in one open and interconnected workspace spread across three internal towers, all linked by suspended bridges and walkways.

To control smoke spread and provide safe egress routes, without compromising the design concept, it was clear from the outset that prescriptive fire engineering solutions would not satisfy the client’s objectives.

Holmes Fire provided fire engineering services to design a smoke hazard management system to maintain safety during a fire. Additionally, Holmes Fire undertook computer based modelling of the occupant egress to ensure occupants could evacuate efficiently. This enabled the architectural vision of the project be achieved without fire separations ruining the openness of the building.
