Presidio Building 926 – House of Air

Presidio Building 926 is a single story steel framed building located at the western end of Crissy Field. Originally built as an aircraft hanger the structure consists of a long span steel trussed roof supporting a concrete roof deck.

The existing historic hanger was rehabilitated to house a new trampoline park. The completed facility includes over 6,500 square feet of trampolines and associated hospitality areas.

Holmes Fire developed a fire protection strategy that met the requirements of The Presidio Trust and National Parks Service, while allowing the proposed content and use as a trampoline park. The floor area of the facility would be predominantly covered with several large trampoline areas, inflatable bounce houses and competition trampolines. The concealed areas underneath the trampolines could not be sprinkler protected, as this would pose a significant safety hazard. Holmes Fire underwent extensive research into the materials (mat and safety pads) to understand the ignition and burning characteristics of these fuels.
